"UreSol" INFORMATION
HARDER THAN BONE / SOFTER THAN A RUBBER BAND
"URESOL" polyurethane elastomers can be formulated to create products with a hardness ranging from 10-15 Shore A (Durometer), which is softer than a gum eraser, to over 90 Shore D (Durometer), which is much harder than a golf ball. The comparison chart below demonstrates "URESOL"’s polyurethane hardness range compared with conventional rubbers.
RESISTANT TO ABRASION
Where severe wear is a problem, "URESOL" polyurethane often outperforms rubber, plastics, and metals. In many applications, this abrasion resistance allows users to fabricate "URESOL" polyurethane products with less material than other elastomers require.
Abrasion resistance is a complex property that depends upon a number of factors. It is recommended that you discuss your problem with our technical staff prior to selecting compounds for evaluation in a given application.

HIGHLY RESISTANT TO IMPACT
While conventional plastic materials tend to become brittle as hardness increases, "URESOL" polyurethane remain elastic and fracture resistant, even in very hard formulations.
FLEXIBLE AT LOW TEMPERATURES
Depending on the formulation, "URESOL" polyurethane remains flexible, even in Arctic-like conditions. In addition, "URESOL" polyurethane has proven remarkably resistant to thermal shock, withstanding sudden and drastic temperature variations without cracking.
WIDE RESILIENCE RANGE
Unlike rubber, "URESOL" polyurethane doesn’t have to be made soft to make it resilient - hard "URESOL" polyurethane can be as resilient as much softer materials. For shock absorbing applications, "URESOL" polyurethane can be formulated with rebound values as low as 10 to 25%. For quicker recovery, or where high frequency vibrations are a factor, they can be formulated with rebound values of 40 to 70%.
RESISTANCE TO OIL, GREASE AND CHEMICALS
While many rubbers and plastics show excellent resistance to certain solvents, oils and chemicals, "URESOL" polyurethane will resist a much wider range of substances. Polyurethane is therefore more suitable for products or parts that could come in contact with a number of different substances. As with any material, we recommend that polyurethane be tested for the specific resistance in actual use, or, at least, a test that simulates actual use as closely as possible.
STABLE TO 120 c (248 f)
Click hIn special formulations, "URESOL" polyurethane can withstand continuous use at 120°C (248°F) or higher. In standard formulations, "URESOL" polyurethane is suitable for continuous use to 90°C (194°F), although they can withstand temperatures as high as 120°C for short periods in certain applications.ere to edit.
